This photo was taken during our Singapore vacation last semestral break. I really like this place, the streets are clean and the people are disciplined. What I love most about this place is the public transportation system. Their buses and trains are clean and spacious, unlike the ones we have in Manila.
I’m not saying that commuting is bad here. I commute everyday to school and it’s fine, but it would definitely be “more fun” if commuters don’t get held up in jeeps or get snatched in the streets. More police visibility would be nice. The government should also do something about dirty/stinky public transpo, at least a law that would make drivers clean their jeepneys/buses/taxis everyday.
I know that comparing a first world country like Singapore to a third world country like the Philippines isn’t quite right, but the government should at least work on the little and simple stuff like public transportation.
